What is actually
happening under the skin
Daxxify does not fill, freeze or tighten anything. Like other neuromodulators, it temporarily interrupts the nerve-to-muscle signal, so the treated muscle relaxes and stops folding the skin into a line. Its peptide-based formulation is what sets it apart from albumin-based options.
A tiny dose, precisely placed
Daxxify is injected in units directly into the muscle creating the line — into the muscle belly, not into the skin. Placement is the entire skill; a few millimetres decides whether a brow lifts or drops.
The nerve signal is interrupted
Daxxify blocks the release of acetylcholine, the messenger that tells that muscle to contract. Nothing is paralysed permanently — the signal is simply paused.
The muscle rests, the skin stops folding
With the muscle at rest, the skin above it is no longer being creased hundreds of times a day. Existing lines soften and new ones stop deepening.
Nerve endings regenerate
Over three to four months the body grows new nerve terminals, movement returns, and the treatment is repeated. Treating consistently often means fewer units over time, not more.

Stronger muscle,

Men typically carry greater muscle mass in the forehead and glabella, and generally require 20 to 50 percent more units for the same result. Dosing a man on a woman's unit chart is the most common reason male patients report a wrinkle relaxer 'not working' on them. We dose to the muscle in front of us, and we treat men who want the line softened without any visible change to how their face moves.

Daxxify is a

Daxxify is FDA-approved for moderate to severe frown lines, with a standard glabellar dose of 40 units. Its peptide-based formulation is associated with a longer duration than traditional neuromodulators — a median of about 6 months in studies. It is also used off-label for other expression areas; unit counts vary by person and are confirmed at consultation.
Daxxify, Botox, filler or Sculptra?
Daxxify, Botox and Dysport all relax the muscle that folds skin into a line. Daxxify differs in its peptide stabiliser and, in studies, its duration. Filler and Sculptra address volume loss instead — a different problem entirely.

How to prep & what to do after
Start about one week ahead
- Book at least three weeks before any event — Daxxify needs about about two weeks to reach full effect, and you want a review window before the date.
- If medically appropriate and cleared by your physician, avoid blood thinners, NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours to reduce bruising.
- Tell us about every medication, supplement and any neuromuscular condition — some interact with botulinum toxin.
- Come with a clean face if you can. If not, we will cleanse the areas for you.
- Eat beforehand. Injections on an empty stomach are the most common cause of feeling light-headed.
- Let us know if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding — we will not treat you.
The first 24 hours matter most
- Stay upright for about four hours. No lying flat, no face-down massage, no facials.
- Do not rub, press or massage the treated areas for 24 hours — product can migrate.
- Skip strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid heat for 24 hours — sauna, hot tub, hot yoga, sun beds.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours to reduce bruising.
- Gently exercising the treated muscles for the first hour may help uptake. Frown, raise, squint.
- Do not judge your result before day 14. Attend your complimentary review.
- Call us immediately for any drooping eyelid or brow, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or vision change.

What is Daxxify?+
Daxxify (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is a purified botulinum toxin type A neuromodulator, injected in small units to temporarily relax the muscles that create expression lines. It is FDA-approved for frown lines and is distinguished by a peptide-based formulation associated with a longer duration of effect.
How long does Daxxify last?+
In clinical studies the median duration was about 6 months, with some patients maintaining results up to 9 months — considerably longer than the 3 to 4 months typical of other wrinkle relaxers.
How long does Daxxify take to work?+
Faster than most neuromodulators — many people notice softening within 1 to 2 days, and some by the next day, with full effect at about two weeks. Do not judge your result before two weeks.

Yes, and it is common. We map both at consultation and sequence them within one visit where it makes clinical sense.
Results
Will Daxxify make me look frozen?+
Not when it is dosed properly. A frozen look comes from over-treating a muscle group or failing to account for the muscles that oppose it. We treat expression as something to preserve, which usually means fewer units than patients expect — and we would rather add a little at your two-week review than take too much away on day one.
What is the difference between Daxxify and filler?+
Daxxify relaxes muscle and treats lines caused by movement. Filler adds volume and treats hollowing or lines present when your face is completely still. Many patients need a small amount of both, and identifying which is causing which line is most of the assessment.
Daxxify, Botox or Dysport — which is better?+
All are botulinum toxin type A. Daxxify has a peptide-based formulation and, in studies, a longer median duration of about 6 months versus roughly 3 to 4 months for the others, with a faster onset of 1 to 2 days. Which suits you depends on the area treated and how long you want results to last.
Medical
Can Daxxify treat jaw clenching or TMJ?+
Yes. Relaxing the masseter muscle reduces clenching, grinding, jaw tension and morning headaches, and slims a heavy or square lower face as a secondary effect. It typically takes 40 to 60 units and builds over six to eight weeks.
Does Daxxify work for excessive sweating?+
Yes. Underarm hyperhidrosis is FDA-approved and treated with roughly 50 units per side. Most patients stay dry for six to nine months, noticeably longer than cosmetic areas last.
Safety
Is Daxxify safe?+
Daxxify is FDA-approved and was studied in the SAKURA phase 3 program of over 2,700 patients. The most common side effects are headache, temporary eyelid drooping and mild injection-site reactions, all generally temporary. As with any botulinum toxin, tell us about any neuromuscular condition before treatment.
Who should not have Daxxify?+
Anyone pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding; anyone with a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis or ALS; anyone with an infection at the injection site; and anyone with a known allergy to botulinum toxin or its components. We screen for all of this at consultation.
