Why do pores look larger?
Pore size is partly genetic, but pores look larger when they are filled with oil and debris, or when the collagen around them weakens with age and sun exposure. Rough texture adds to it by scattering light across the surface.
Pores cannot be closed, but they can look noticeably smaller and smoother when the surrounding skin is firmer and the surface is clear.
