Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are used to provide shape and contour in the face. They can be used to restore volume and fullness to regions of the face that are beginning to age, or to accentuate your best features and bring balance and ideal proportions to the face.
Fillers are a great choice for adding fullness back to areas that are empty and hollow, smoothing out wrinkles and creases, improving contours and lift, or rejuvenating plumpness in the lips. Your skin’s structural components begin to deteriorate with time and sun damage, resulting in sagging, loss of suppleness, and premature aging. The goal with any of our filler treatments at Kora Aesthetics is to create a perfectly natural, yet transformative result. When fillers are placed properly, they should create desirable contours and a youthful appearance while remaining completely undetectable.
Our expert aesthetic team at Kora Aesthetics is proud to offer Restylane, Juvéderm, and Versa dermal fillers to help restore volume, create balance, and youthful contours. These fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which is naturally broken down in the skin over time. Fillers generally last anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years and are all reversible if an adjustment is needed. Dermal fillers are minimally invasive, begin working right away and don’t require the recovery time you would get after surgery.
Some of the benefits of Dermal Fillers include:
- Immediate Results with No Downtime
- Long-Lasting Results
- Minimal Risks
- Good for your skin
- Treatments are fully customizable
- Adds plumpness
- Helps to boost your collagen
- Can help the appearance of scars
- Fully reversible
Areas most commonly treated with Dermal Fillers:
Temples
Temples
Why do we use filler in the temples? As we get older, our temples often shrink in volume and become concave (sunken in). By restoring temple volume with fillers, we can create a more youthful and well-rested appearance to the entire upper face and eye area.
Cheeks
Cheeks
Weak bone structure or age-related volume loss in the cheeks causes a flat, shadowy appearance to the mid-face making us look older. Cheek filler can give a firmer, more supported appearance to the face. We NEVER create chipmunk cheeks or over-exaggerated angles. Natural results will appear perfectly undetectable.
Under the Eyes (Tear Troughs)
Under the Eyes
Under eye filler helps to reduce hollowing and shadows under the eyes. Smoothing this area with filler gives a refreshed, less-tired look. Under eye treatment is most frequently used in conjunction with cheek filler to create the most natural, transformative effect.
Smile Lines (Nasolabial Folds)
Smile Lines (Nasolabial Folds)
Smile lines and nasolabial folds (the crease that appears from the tip of the nose to the corner of the mouth) become deeper and more noticeable with time. Filler supports the tissue in order to soften shadowing and reduce the appearance of lines/wrinkles. This treatment is most frequently used in conjunction with cheek filler to create a more youthful appearance without ever looking puffy or overfilled.
Lip Plump
Lip Plump
The lip plump is perhaps our most popular treatment! We specialize in creating natural-looking lips, so whether you want subtle volume or a significantly fuller look, we’ll keep them looking natural. At your visit, we will conduct an assessment and develop the perfect strategy based on your lip tissue and objectives.
Lip Hydrate
Lip Hydrate
Lip filler doesn’t always have to mean bigger lips! For our Lip Hydrate treatment, soft, flexible fillers are used to re-hydrate the lips and restore shape without the extra volume. We often use this treatment to reduce the appearance of lip lines.
Chin Area
Chin Area
Fillers placed in the chin enhance the face’s youthful appearance by giving it structure and definition as well as correcting and balancing the profile. Weak chin structure can be genetic or a result of age-related volume loss.
Jawline
Jawline
Fillers can be used to build and sculpt the jawline as well as reduce the appearance of jowls. Typically, the upper and mid face are addressed before treating the jawline region. Multiple syringes are needed for the jawline.
neck lines
neck lines
Horizontal creases in the neck can be softened with fillers. Sometimes referred to as “tech neck,” these lines are often formed from repeatedly angling our heads down to look at our phone or computer screens!
Hand Filler
Hand Filler
Are your hands aging faster than your face? Hands are exposed to all kinds of stressors like sun exposure and constant use which can create wrinkly skin and volume loss! Fillers are used to rejuvenate the tissue resulting in tighter, plumper skin and fewer wrinkles.
Dissolve Unwanted Filler
Dissolve Unwanted Filler
Have a previous bad filler job or change your mind? We use an enzyme called hyaluronidase to get rid of fillers that have been placed incorrectly or unevenly. Things happen, but we can fix it!
Shadows Around the Mouth
Shadows Around the Mouth
Shadows or volume loss in the area between the mouth and the chin can cause a downturned appearance of the mouth and make jowls appear worse. Using filler to smooth the shadows will help support the corner of the mouth back up and camouflage the jowls. This treatment creates a polished look of the entire lower face.
These are the two vertical lines between your eyebrows. Botox/Dysport relaxes facial muscles that produce fine lines and wrinkles and prevent new creases.
Those fine wrinkles around the eyes are referred to as “crow’s feet.” The muscles surrounding the corners of the eyes are relaxed due to Botox/Dysport, making crow’s feet less visible.
“Bunny Lines” are the fine lines that appear on either side of your nose when you crease it. Botox prevents messages from your nervous system that tell specific muscles to move. Because many fine lines on your face, including bunny lines, are caused by your muscles making the same contraction over and over, blocking this signal can help minimize the appearance of these wrinkles.
There are several names for those pesky, vertical wrinkles that appear above and around your pout, including lipstick lines, smoker’s lines, and lip lines. Botox/Dysport works by relaxing the muscles of your lips and make your lips look more prominent. You won’t be able to purse your lips as much as you used to, helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the lips.
A “gummy smile” displays more of your gumline than you’d like. The excessive gingival display is another name for it. For a more balanced grin or gummy smile, a modest injection of Botox can relax the lip.
The “jelly eye rolls” are the rolls that appear under the eyes while you’re smiling or laughing. Injections of Botox/Dysport around the eyes, known as “jelly rolls,” are made up of rapid, tiny injections to aid smooth out the skin surrounding your eyes.
A rough, pebble-like texture in the chin region is referred to as a pebbled chin, pebbly chin, or orange peel chin. With Botox/Dysport injections, the pebbled chin is simple to repair. Both procedures relax the mentalis muscle and other muscles in the region that cause an uneven appearance. A few drops of either neuromodulator can be injected into the chin to produce a smoother chin contour.
The two muscles that cover both sides of your neck are known as the platysmal bands, which are also referred to as neck bands. To treat neck or platysmal bands, just a few Botox injections in the platysma muscles can relax them, making the vertical bands less noticeable.
The masseter is one of the muscles that help you chew. It’s located on the side of your face and connects your cheekbone to your lower jawbone. When Botox is administered to the masseter, it is referred to as a masseter Botox. It’s also known as jaw Botox. The masseter is injected with botulinum toxin, which prevents nerve impulses from reaching the muscle. This will prevent the muscle from contracting.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), also known as the jaw joint, connects your mandible (lower jaw) to your skull. Botox/Dysport relieves jaw tension by paralyzing jaw muscles by stopping them from contracting in the powerful, sometimes unintentional, jaw movement that causes headaches and discomfort.
A lip flip is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that can add fullness to the top lip without dermal fillers. The Botox/Dysport helps relax the muscles around the lips, causing the lip to lift and appear fuller.
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, tightens wrinkles and frown lines while elevating the brows. A brow lift using Botox/Dysport involves giving an injection between the brows to relax the muscles beneath. The upper forehead muscles “pull” the eyebrows back into place, allowing the skin to smooth out.
Excessive sweating is known as hyperhidrosis. Injections of Botox/Dysport are a novel treatment option for those who have hyperhidrosis. The injections target the nerves that control sweating by preventing sweat glands from overproducing sweat.
The masseter muscle is relaxed using a Botox/Dysport injection. Because the muscle isn’t being used and is instead at rest, it will gradually shrink (or atrophy) over time. It may increase in size by restricting its movement, just like working out any other muscle. It will shrink by limiting the movement of the muscles using Botox/Dysport to make the face look thinner.
Botox/Dysport FAQ
